To support, educate, and provide resources for families, and to collaborate with the school system for the benefit of the community.


  • Offer parent support, including monthly meetings
  • Act as a liaison between the Special Education Administration and the community
  • Advise the school committee and Special Education Director of needs in the community as gained through formal and informal needs assessments
  • Develop and evaluate special education programs
  • Educate parents and community members through trainings and workshops
  • Provide an annual Special Education "Parent's Rights" Training


Any parents, guardians, or caregivers who...

  • have children who receive special education services, in or out of the Scituate community
  • are just entering into, or are beginning to explore, the special education process
  • are concerned their child may have some learning differences and/or behavioral challenges
