Welcome back to another exciting school year! We are starting lunch groups in grades one through six. The purpose of these groups is to help all children get to know each other and develop friendships. These groups are a great way to foster the development and mastery of a variety of social skills that can be utilized in the classroom, playground, and home environment. The children learn how to work cooperatively together, handle difficult situations (i.e., teasing), and treat each other respectfully.

In the older grades, lunch groups provide a way for the children to spend their lunch time in a small group talking and playing games.

Lunch groups will be facilitated by Jennifer Fine, the school psychologist, Jane Beaudette, the speech and language pathologist, and Linda Nathan, the social worker.

Lunch groups will be available to all children in grades one through six. If you would prefer your child not to participate in a lunch group, please email Jennifer Fine at jfine@scit.org.
