Scituate Public Schools welcomes individuals who are willing to contribute to the successful educational experiences of the children of Scituate.  Substitute teachers play an important role in the educational process. As a substitute teacher, your services and contributions are necessary for the continuity of educational instruction for our children.

In order to be considered for a substitute teaching position in the Scituate Public Schools, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree. 

To apply, please complete the forms in the substitute teacher packet below.  Make sure you attach a copy of your transcript or proof of graduation to the packet, as well as a copy of your Massachusetts driver's license and social security card.

When all forms have been submitted to the Business Office, your application will be sent to the Assistant Superintendent, and you will be contacted for an interview.

If you are approved to be a substitute in Scituate Public Schools, you will have to be fingerprinted per Mass General Laws.  Information on the process is below:


Upon a satisfactory fingerprint report, you will then be added to AESOP, our automated substitute placement system.
