KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2018

It is an exciting time for you and your family! While there is much information to absorb, our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you.

Kindergarten Registration began in January 2018.

We can’t wait to meet you and your kindergartner!

Children who are 5-years old on or before September 1, 2018 are eligible for Kindergarten. Scituate Public Schools offers:

- Free Half-Day Kindergarten and
- Tuition Based Full Day Kindergarten

The district's Kindergarten Regisration Days were held on January 17th and 18th however new registrations are still being accepted.

Our goal is to keep students in their neighborhood or "home" school, although potentially some students could be placed in other schools to maximize the efficiency of our Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK) and Half-Day Kindergarten (HDK) programs.

Current registration numbers for some schools are near the class size limit of 20 children for the Full Day programs. Depending on your home district your child may be placed on a waiting list for their home school but all children will receive a placement for Kindergarten.

  • Once you have the link you can complete the registration form and you have the option to upload scanned copies of the requried documents listed below.
  • You will need to complete the registration process by bringing requried documents and a deposit for the Full Day program to the Central Administration office (directions below).

  • Completed Kindergarten Developmental History – Click here to download the form to enter your child’s information directly onto the writeable PDF form
  • You must present an Original Birth Certificate – with seal, or child's passport.

Proof of Residency and Identification Documents

  • 1. Evidence of Residency: Please provide One (1) of the following:
    • Record of recent mortgage payment and/or property tax bill
    • Fully signed and executed Lease and/or Rental Agreement (Must be executed by both parties)
    • Landlord/Owner of Property Affidavit (click here for the Residency Statement/Affidavit)
    • Fully signed and executed Purchase and Sale (P&S) Agreement (provided occupancy date occurs within 30 days of enrollment)
    • Section 8 Agreement
  • 2. Evidence of Occupancy: Please provide One (1) of the following:
    • Gas/Oil Bill, Electric Bill, Home (not cell) Telephone Bill, Cable Bill, Water Bill (Note: Bill must be dated within the past 45 days and address and name must be stated)
    • Recent bill dated within the past 45 days showing Scituate address and name (Note: A Residency Statement/Affidavit is required with this option)
    • Occupancy Statement/Affidavit must be notarized if a bill cannot be provided prior to student’s enrollment.
  • 3 Proof of Identification of Parent/Guardian: Please provide One (1) of the following:
    • Valid MA Driver’s License
    • Valid MA Photo ID Card
    • Valid Passport
    • Other Government issued Photo ID

      • A: You can visit the Scituate Public Library or you can come to the January 17th or 18th in-person registration days where computers will be available.
    • Q: What if I miss the January in-person registration days?
      • A: You can register your child for Kindergarten at any time after the registration days by completing the online Registration Gateway process.
    • Q: Can I bring original documents to be copied? I don’t have access to a copier.
      • A: Yes, we will provide access to a photocopier to copy your originals.

    • Q: What if I’m not sure which school my child will attend?

      • A: The home owner should complete the Landlord Tenant Residency Affidavit even when rent isn’t paid. This can satisfy both the Evidence of Residency and Evidence of Occupancy requirement.
