ASSESSMENT:  We embrace the belief that all students can succeed in these specialized areas.  As such, grades in Art, Music and PE, are not determined based on innate ability.  The combination of consistent effort, respect, creativity, content and craftsmanship all are contributing factors to our assessment of each student’s work. Grades are awarded from a whole child and thoughtful approach.  They take into consideration and reflect the entire creative process.  In addition to our subject grades we assign an indicator for conduct and effort.

As we explore these specialist areas from our youngest Kindergarten learners to our eldest, 6th grade students, we look at the student’s creative process from conception to implementation.  We strive to build and develop our programs from the basic skills taught in Kindergarten, to more independent self-expression by the completion of 6th grade.  At each grade level we review old skills, introduce new skills and constantly explore and review the basic tenants of Art, Music, Physical Education and Library skills.  We greatly value your continued support of our programs.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.  We are looking forward to another wonderful school year!
