Good morning-

It is with great pleasure that the Scituate School Committee announces the selection of Ron Griffin, Deputy Director of the Foxborough Regional Charter School, as the next superintendent of the Scituate Public Schools. Mr. Griffin has accepted the position in principle and contract negotiations will follow shortly.

Foxborough Regional Charter School is a regional district attracting students from approximately 20 different towns.  Ron’s position as Deputy Director is analogous to an Assistant Superintendent of a traditional public school.  Ron has been with Foxborough for nine years.  Prior to his time in Foxborough, Ron was the PK-12 District Science Coordinator for Taunton Public Schools.   Before that, Ron was a high school science and math teacher for Bellingham High School.

The School Committee wants to thank the many people involved in the search process which spanned five months and also thank the many candidates who showed interest in the position. We were very fortunate to have the difficult task of selecting from three outstanding finalists. In the near future, arrangements will be made to introduce Mr. Griffin to the Scituate school community and the Scituate community at large.
